mizu new york and Fresh Connections have teamed up to raise money for the Children’s Hospital Boston
WHAT: mizu new york salon is proud to partner with Fresh Connections for a day of charitable haircuts and blowdries in support of the nation-wide HAIRraising initiative to raise funds and awareness for the Children’s Hospital Boston. The event will culminate in a HAIRraising after party. An open bar will feature TY KU’s award-winning Asian wines and spirits, and mixers by BluePrintCleanse including an exclusive Fresh Connections signature Pineapple Sake cocktail. Hors’ d oeuvres will be provided by London Lennies Seafood Restaurant. The after party will include a silent auction. 100% of proceeds from this event will directly benefit Children’s Hospital Boston. Fresh Connections is known for its charitable and innovative social events, and mizu new york is excited to merge the mission of HAIRraising with New York’s stylish and compassionate philanthropists.

HOW: mizu new york will offer $65 haircuts and $35 blowdries from top industry stylists during the allotted hours. Co-owner Vaughn Acord along with celebrity stylist Dwight Miller will be special guest cutters for the day. Additional guest stylists soon to be announced. Appointments can be booked by e-mailing hairraising@mizunewyork.com. Participants are encouraged to book ASAP, as services will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Monday, June 28th Fresh Connections and mizu new york salon are partnering to host HAIRraising, an all day cut & blow dry-a-thon and cocktail party, to benefit the Children's Hospital of Boston from 8am-10pm. Fresh Connections Volunteers with God's Love We Deliver-Post HRD for Blackout Box
God's Love We Deliver is an extraordinary non-profit organization serving nutritious food to home-bound men, women and their families battling HIV/AIDS, Cancer, and other serious illnesses, who are not able to prepare or provide nutritious meals for themselves due to their illness.
This past Sunday, Fresh Connections joined God's Love We Deliver in SoHo to help pack over 1,700 blackout boxes in case of emergency this summer. Blackout boxes contain water, granola bars, peanut butter, jelly, oatmeal, and a few other food items in case their is a summer blackout, GLWD prepares their clients with food for emergency. Blackout boxes will be delivered this week. Our experience was simply incredible! GLWD knew exactly how to operate effectively, and we had so much fun meeting new people, while packing boxes.
Stephen Covello and Kate Suhr are compelling, intentional, and dynamic leaders that positively impacted each of us during our Volunteer Service Day. Fresh Connections will absolutely continue to partner with God's Love We Deliver!
Special thanks to Fresh Leaders-Mark Horsburgh, Luke McGee, and Alexa Silverman for leading such a strong weekend of philanthropy and service!
